Money making guide

From Community Wiki | Soulbound: Online

This page lists every way of making Gold that the wiki knows about, with an estimated gold per hour for each, so they can be compared side by side. It works the way the [https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide Old School RuneScape wiki]'s money-making guides work: each method has its own page, and this table is built from those pages.

Nothing here is official, and every number on this page is editable by anyone. Where a method shows an em dash instead of a figure, nobody has recorded a rate for it yet — filling one in takes a couple of minutes and needs no special permission. See Wiki:Money making guide/Editing guide.

Reading the table

  • Click a column heading to sort. The Gold/hour column sorts on the real number behind the display, so 1.2K Gold and 150 Gold order correctly, and methods with no rate yet sort to the bottom.
  • "manual" beside a method means the figure was typed in by hand rather than worked out from item values.
  • Item prices come from each item's Sell Value as recorded on its own page. If one is wrong, correct it once on that item's value page and every guide using the item follows.
  • The rows are cached. If a figure here looks older than the guide page, purge this page.
  • Prices and rates are estimates contributed by players. Test a method with a small sample before committing an evening to it.

How the numbers are worked out

Each guide records what one action produces and consumes, and how many of those actions fit in an hour:

gold per hour = ( what you get per action × its sell value ) × actions per hour
+ gold received directly × actions per hour
− ( what it costs per action × sell value ) × actions per hour

A method with no actions per hour cannot have a gold-per-hour figure, which is why the table shows an em dash rather than a guess. Anything that cannot be modelled from items at all — player-to-player trading, for instance — can carry a hand-entered figure instead, flagged "manual" in the table.

The one shared assumption lives on Template:Money making guide/constants: vendors are currently taken to pay an item's full listed Sell Value. If that turns out to be wrong, changing it there re-prices every guide at once.

Adding a method

  1. Start the page with the box at Wiki:Money making guide/Add a method. It gives you a skeleton with every field commented.
  2. Fill in what you know. Blanks are fine — a guide that names the right activity, skill and items but has no rate yet is still useful, and it joins Category:Money makers missing a rate so someone can finish it.
  3. Add one line for your guide to Template:Money making guide/list so it appears in the table above.

The full field reference is on Template:Money maker, and there is a worked example in the editing guide.

Other ways to get Gold

Not everything is a repeatable money maker. Quests pay out once, achievements pay on completion, and the Gold page lists where the currency comes from in general.
