Weapon
A weapon is the player's first means of offense against enemies in Soulbound. Weapons can be forged, dropped from enemies, or found in chests.
Types of Weapons
Players are encouraged to choose the type of weapon that works best for their playstyle and/or enemy encounters:
- Swords strike in an arc quickly, for more frequent damage.
- Longswords are slower but generally more powerful and can reach long distances in a line.
- Heavy Weapons like hammers and axes pound the ground with a reverberating effect, leaving aftershock damage.
Stats
Every weapon has Stats, unless it is a Cosmetic.
Weapon stats can include:
- Max Health
- Damage
- Dodge
- Critical Strike Chance
- Critical Strike Damage
- Heavy Hit
- Buff Power
Players are encouraged to equip the gear best suited to their playstyle and dungeon encounters (e.g. Dodge to avoid enemy attacks, Critical Strike to fell enemies more quickly).
Equipping a Weapon
To equip a weapon:
- open the bag (press "b")
- open the character profile (press "c")
- drag-and-drop the weapon into the weapon slot
OR
- right-click the weapon in your bag and choose Equip - be careful a does not go into the Cosmetic slot!
Important:
Players can only attack with 1 weapon.
Most weapons require specific Skill Level(s) to be equipped.
Both regular gear and Cosmetics can be equipped in the regular or Cosmetic slots; equip whichever gear you wish to wear for Stats in the regular slots, and aesthetic gear in the Cosmetic slots. This will allow you to maintain your preferred Stats while displaying a customized look.
Similar gear types must be used in both regular and Cosmetic slots to take advantage of the Cosmetic function (e.g. all Heavy Weapons, or all Greatswords). Attempting to equip different types will yield an error.
