Creating An Account

This page is about how Soulbound accounts work. For the step-by-step beginner walkthrough, see New Player Guide.

Soulbound: Online has no sign-up form. Buying the game on Steam and launching it creates your account for you, tied to the Steam account you bought it with. There is no separate username or password to choose, and nothing to fill in.

Getting an account

1. Buy Soulbound: Online on Steam — store.steampowered.com. It is a paid Early Access game; see the store page for the current price in your region.
2. Launch it from Steam. Your Soulbound account is created automatically on first launch, from your Steam account.
3. Start playing. You begin the opening sequence straight away — see the New Player Guide.

What you need

• Windows 10 64-bit. There is no macOS or Linux build. Check the full requirements on the store page.
• A Steam account that owns the game.
• An internet connection — Soulbound is an MMO and is always online.

Soulbound can no longer be played in a web browser or as a Discord Activity. Both were retired before the Early Access release on 21 July 2026.

One account, in one place at a time

• Your progress is not tied to a world or server. Server shards are created based on how many players are in a location, and separately for each dungeon — you are never locked to one of them, and you never have to pick one.
• One account can only be logged in in one place at a time. If you sign in somewhere else, the first session is logged out.

Why there is no password

Because your account comes from Steam, you do not have a Soulbound password. That is worth knowing, because it makes one very common scam easy to spot:

• Nobody can legitimately ask you for your Soulbound password. There isn't one. Anyone asking is trying to scam you.
• Account recovery goes through Steam, not through us.
• We will never contact you about your account except through in-game messages or the official Discord.

Retired sign-up routes

If you have followed an old guide, video or wiki page here, you may have been sent to one of these. None of them work any more:

• accounts.soulbound.game — the old web sign-up form. Retired.
• play.soulbound.game — the old browser client. Retired.
• The Discord Activity — retired.

Buying on Steam is now the only way in.
