Fishing is a Gathering Skill used to collect marine items from fishing school.


🎣 How to Fish

Fishing requires the following:

Fishing School are commonly found around Neo-Tilus, and can now also spawn in Virelda and Minamoto following the latest update.

Fishing Process:

  1. Stand near a fishing school and click it to cast your line
  2. Wait for the fish to fully bite, then press Spacebar to hook
  • Pressing Spacebar early will scare the fish away
  1. Use A and D or ← and β†’ to reel in the fish
  • Keep the green bar over the fish to wear it down and fill up the progress bar
  • The bar will turn red when not over the fish, causing it to resist and wear down the progress bar
  1. If you succeed to fill up the progress bar:
  • Gain 1 marine item
  • Lose 3 Stamina
  1. If you fail to fill up the progress bar:
  • The fish escapes
  • No Stamina is lost

Tip: Equipping the Fishing Magnet (rewarded from a quest) allows the player to catch quest-related items.


🧾 Fishing Quests

Wilson in Neo-Tilus gives the introductory Fishing quest after players find his lost Fishing Rod in nearby barrels.

Subsequent quests:

  • Just Keep Swimming – Catch a Desert Pup Fish

 * Reward: 10x Raw Fish Fillet, 500 Fishing EXP

  • Feeling Fishy – Catch 1 fish and craft a fillet at the Fishmonger station

 * Reward: Ice Cube Ability, 500 Fishing EXP

Finnley also plays a role in the Fair Trade quest, requiring the player to trade a Pearl found via Fishing to power the Everdune Beacon.
