Virelda
Virelda is the game's main desert hub town and a new Pioneer's first home, the first major town after Beginner's Bay (Tutorial Island). In the game data it is the world called "the Horizon" (theHorizon), a hub world reached after the opening tutorial sequence. It is an open-air town of pale stone and adobe buildings with red awnings and banners, palm trees and a central beacon platform, its sand carved into connected pockets by winding purple-grey rock ridges.
Despite the desert locale, Virelda is a bustling hub. It serves as the home base of the resistance against the Arcadia Mayor, with pathways to all major zones in Chapter 1. Players first arrive straight out of the tutorial, and the town anchors the rest of the first hour of play: the bank, the quest board, farming, crafting and the town's dungeon and raid all sit here.
Getting there
Virelda is entered automatically at the end of the opening tutorial, after the Minamoto Intro Scene in the Back Room. Once unlocked it serves as the player's home hub, with fast-travel through its Soul Link Beacon. The Travel Bot teleports between Tutorial Island and Virelda, and trains run between here and Arcadia.
Exits
- North — Virelda Outskirts, for Foraging plants and Mining ores.
- North-west — Arcadia Approach, leading to Arcadia.
- Note: requirements must be met to enter the city proper — see Arcadia.
- East — Seabreeze Pass, leading to the Fishing town Neo-Tilus, Needlepoint and Everdune.
- South-west — Hollow Rock, leading to Noxley, the Minamoto Elevator, The Foundation and Farpoint.
- Note: requirements must be met to enter — see Hollow Rock.
- South — the Virelda cave system, leading to a respawning chest, more Apartments and the Pip quest.
Layout
Reading the map with north at the top, the dense town core sits just left of centre, built around a central beacon platform. A residential strip and rentable plots run along the north edge; the Homestead farming compound occupies the north-east; the west side holds more rentables, groves and mines; and the south and south-east hold the outskirt dungeon, a raid entrance and a three-mouthed desert cave. Only about a quarter of the map is walkable, so movement funnels along sand corridors, with the town core as the crossroads.
Sub-areas
The Homestead
The farming compound in the north-east, beneath a tall oxygen tower and fronting several fenced garden plots. Crops are grown and seeds sold here, and it hosts the Farming intro quest and the farming plots for Seeds.
Virelda Outskirt Dungeon
The dungeon on the town's south-east outskirts, marked by a desert jeep beside its entrance. A raid entrance sits just east of it.
Rentable housing
Virelda has rentable housing plots ringing the town by compass district — north, west, east, south and central — which players can rent as personal homes.
Apartments
- Kai's apartment, near the Witch Doctor, gives free use of level 1 Crafting Stations.
- _blank's apartment, near Granny Smith, offers gold-per-minute level 2 Crafting Stations.
- More Apartments are reachable through the south cave system.

Points of interest
- Village centre and beacon plaza — the central plaza and social hub, marked by the Soul Link Pad / Eastern Reach Beacon. This is the natural spawn-and-gather point. In lore, Virelda's Soul Link Beacon is broken and awaiting parts stuck behind the Blockade in Arcadia.
- Pioneers' Guild — the domed, banner-draped hall in the north-west of the core; the civic task-board institution that organises Pioneers' work, functioning as the quest and job hub. Players accept Contracts and buy Event Cosmetics here.
- Virelda Bank — storage, run by the Virelda Guard; where Executive Mira teaches banking during Stash It Away.
- Granny Smith's House — the Cooking intro quest and a Kitchen.
- Witch Doctor's House — the Chemistry intro quest and a Chemistry Lab.
- Virelda Chief's House
- Culinary Oasis — a kitchen and eatery building on the east edge of the core.
- Virelda Tavern — the town's social and stamina-restoring space, just south of the plaza.
- Apartment quarter — the residential quarter south-west of the plaza, where players occupy apartments fitted with crafting tables.
- Virelda Arena — a tiered PvE arena instance, with entries by the arena and near the outskirt dungeon.
Vendors
- Bud — sells Seeds.
- Farok — sells basic accessories, potions, Recall Discs (teleports) and Food.
Gathering
Virelda's farming-and-crafting loop is fed by resource zones across the town: extensive foraging across the central and southern desert, mining by the south-east outskirt dungeon and cave, west-side groves and mines, and a couple of small oasis ponds. The Pink Berry bushes host the Foraging intro quest and the Solid Rock formations the Mining intro quest, and dedicated tutorial gathering nodes (a tutorial mine and tutorial grove) sit within the town for players still learning.
Notes
- Region is disputed. world-cartographer places Virelda in Everdune and the town beacon is named the "Eastern Reach Beacon", but the community article lists Everdune as a destination reached through the east exit via Seabreeze Pass. The infobox keeps Everdune pending a canon ruling.
- Exits: the cluster-sourced draft describes two world gates bracketing the town, one to the north-west and one to the east. The community article documents five exits (north, north-west, east, south-west, south); all five are listed above.
- Bank: the cluster-sourced draft names Executive Mira as the teller for Stash It Away; the community article names the Virelda Guard as the bank. Both are recorded, and the infobox keeps Executive Mira.
- Dungeon naming: the draft refers to a "Virelda Outskirt Dungeon" on the south-east outskirts; the community article names the town's dungeons as Eastern Reach and the Abyssal Raid. Whether these are the same entrance is unconfirmed.
Changes
- Virelda remains the game's live hub town. An earlier tutorial-quest flow set in Virelda (the old "Welcome to Virelda" chore questline) was replaced for Early Access by the current tutorial; the town itself and its facilities are unchanged and current.
Trivia
- The game data name for Virelda is "the Horizon" (
theHorizon). - Lore places Virelda on the edge of the Everdune desert, its beacon awaiting parts held up behind the Arcadian Blockade.
