Sowing Seeds is the farming tutorial of Soulbound: Online and the fourth beat of the tutorial opening loop. Taught by Arthur in Beginner's Bay, it walks the player through the full farming cycle — preparing soil, planting, watering, harvesting — and through the sell/buy loop with the vendors Aster and Seedle.

Details

The quest hands the player four farming tools — Hoe, Trowel, Watering Can and Garden Shears — along with a Wild Berry Seed to plant first and a stock of starter seeds (Wild Cucumber Seed ×3, Wild Strawberry Seed ×3, Wild Bell Pepper Seed ×3).

Walkthrough

Grow your first crop

At the farming plot next to Arthur, use the tools in sequence on the marked plot:

  1. Prepare the soil with the Hoe.
  2. Plant your seed — the Wild Berry Seed — with the Trowel.
  3. Water your crop with the Watering Can.
  4. Harvest the grown Wild Berry with the Garden Shears.

The market loop

Move to the location marked on the map and speak to Arthur. He directs the player to sell the harvested crop to Aster, then buy seeds from Seedle with the proceeds. Return to Arthur to complete the quest.

Quest points?

No experience is granted directly by the quest data; farming actions award Farming experience as normal.

Required for

  • Gold Rush — where the player farms and sells to Aster to raise gold for starter gear.

Changes

  • Introduced with the 2026 tutorial.

Trivia

  • questId 01JYBFEW3W0JV9BCEBSS18ZC39; the only tutorial quest currently surfaced in the public quest list, as Sowing Seeds - farmland.
  • The farming tools are stored in the game data under placeholder identifiers (test_cultivator, test_seed_dispenser, and so on); their display names are final but the identifiers may change before or at Early Access.
  • The first seed's identifier (quest_seed_carrot_purple) is a reused legacy id; it displays as Wild Berry Seed and grows a Wild Berry.
