The Tutorial Dungeon is the first dungeon in Soulbound: Online, teaching the core combat and extraction loop. It runs on the internal identifier 2026_01_tutorial_v2 and is a solo, five-room instance: an empty introduction room, three combat rooms of escalating robot waves, and a final extraction room. The player enters it after completing Gold Rush, and on clearing it is drawn into the scripted Anima Scene.

Getting there

The entrance is a beacon at Beginner's Bay, opened at the end of Gold Rush once the player has bought and equipped the Dull Katana and the Old Pioneer armour set from Finnley. The instruction reads: "Proceed to the area or open the Beacon when you're ready to enter the dungeon."

Access requirements

  • Completion of Gold Rush, with the Dull Katana and armour set equipped.
  • No level or entry-cost gate; the dungeon is the tutorial's combat introduction.

Layout

The run is five rooms in a fixed order:

Room Type Notes
Room 0 Intro (empty) No enemies; the opening room of the run.
Room 1 Combat Six waves of robots. Contains a chest (2026_tutorial_room_1_chest).
Room 2 Combat Thirteen waves — the longest fight of the run.
Room 3 Combat Four waves, ending in the Bulky Robot finale.
Room 4 Extraction The finale/extraction room where the run ends.

Enemies

All enemies are combat robots. Their level and attack damage are set at runtime by the dungeon's scaling functions, so are not fixed values; base contact (touch) damage is 3.

  • Orange Robot — the primary slow melee robot; appears in Rooms 1–3.
  • Orange Jumping Robot — a jumping melee robot; appears in Rooms 1–3.
  • Blue Robot — a fast melee robot; appears in Rooms 2–3.
  • Bulky Robot — a heavy, tanky robot (750 base hitpoints) that anchors the Room 3 finale.

Boss

The run culminates in the Bulky Robot finale in Room 3, alongside a trigger variant of the Blue Robot. There is no separately named boss NPC; the Bulky Robot is the closing threat before extraction. At dungeon level 4 the player is forced a special relic (dc_relic_unique_nuke_level1) to help clear the finale.

The small robot companion ZT-3Y accompanies the player through Rooms 2 and 3, hiding during fights and reviving the player if they fall.

Rewards / loot

Normal robots roll on the Basic Dungeon Normal Mob Loot table, which is almost entirely small, low-chance drops: a few gold (1–10), scrap objects and a chance at a crude iron bar. Room 1 also contains a chest. The tutorial's main reward is progression: clearing the dungeon leads directly into the Anima Scene and, shortly after, into the hub town of Virelda.

Trivia

  • The dungeon is not registered in the game's dungeon-config route; its definition lives in the dungeons and dungeon-definitions data instead.
