Cracks in the Foundation (Main Quest)

Quest Giver: Valor (Located inside Teshimi) Location: Teshimi → Hollow Rock → The Foundation

Objective

Gain access to The Foundation and retrieve the Minima to Remnant to help restore the Farpoint Rift Beacon.

How to Start

To begin the quest, enter Teshimi and head to the left side. Use the purple circular beacon to jump across, where you’ll find Valor. Speak to him to start Cracks in the Foundation.

Prerequisites:
You must complete the following mainline quests:

Finders Keepers

Hack to the Future

Fair Trade

How to Complete

After speaking with Valor, return to Virelda.
Take the Hollow Rock path southwest of Virelda (marked on your map).
Enter Hollow Rock through the large gates.
Follow the winding path down to the exit.
Follow the question mark marker to find Noxley.

Sub-Quest: Riddle Me This

Speak to Noxley and answer his riddles correctly to unlock the cave.
Once completed, enter the cave.

Inside the Foundation

Take the Lift to Minamoto.
Follow the path to the entrance of The Shadowed Path.
Enter and proceed to the hacking node.
Match the symbols correctly to disable the laser grid.
Continue through to enter Foundation Mountain.

Tip: Move quickly and take the left-side route to avoid hazards.

Use the green glowing platform (press F) to reach the summit.
Speak to the Foundation Boss at the top.
Receive the Minima to Remnant — a key item needed to restore the beacon.
Exit the Foundation area to complete the quest.

You lookin' for something?
Player: You know anything about broken beacons?
Beacons? You mean, like the beacon in Farpoint Rift?
Sure. I know enough to know it's been broken for a while now. Why?
Player: Do you know how to fix it?
Listen. I don't know much worth sharing. But if it's information you want, then you should travel to my home – the Foundation. There, you can find the answer to any question.
But don't think that it'll be easy. My people aren't like me – they're paranoid, and definitely don't like outsiders.
Player: Can you help me get in?
No, but I can tell you what you need to do. You'll need a disguise to fit in – a Foundation Hood should do it. Rumour has it, a fisherman in Neo-Tilus fished one up recently.
I think that's enough talk for now. Come back when you're ready and I can tell you more.

Return to Valor after obtaining the Foundation Hood

You have them! Good job. Make sure you have them with you when you approach the Foundation, or you'll have a hard time getting in!
Now, you'll need to make your way there. If you head to Virelda, you'll see I've marked the location on your map. You'll have to go through Hollow Rock.

Enter The Foundation Zone with the Foundation Hood

Vorcan: Jared, you're finally back! Took you long enough.
Wait.. You are Jared, right?
Player: Yup! OR Uhhh...
I knew it. I'd recognise you anywhere! And you're just in time.
Player: In time for what?
Come on, follow me!
There you are!
Dialogue (Should be Vorcan): You're not Jared!
Player: I am! I just had plastic surgery OR You caught me OR Uhhh...
Jared would NEWER get plastic surgery! He's grossly against the diminishing of individual beauty! IMPOSTER!!
I'm taking you to see the head.
Foundation Head: You... I sense a stranger in our midst.
Speak, intruder. Or I shall speak for you.
Player: I'm searching for an energy source
Ah, for the Farpoint Rift beacon? Very well.
Take this and use it to unlock the Beacon.
(Bug) Player: Oh. one more thing. You will need this [c-yellow]ability configurator[/] – The enemies you will face in Farpoint Rift will be fearsome, this will allow you to chose which abilities you shall take in with you.
