Gear
Gear is equipment worn for combat stats: weapons, armor (head, chest, feet) and accessories (belt, ring, necklace, back). Every piece of gear has stats, unless it is a Cosmetic.
Slots
| Slot | Pieces |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Swords, Greatswords, Hammers, Staves |
| Armor | Head, Chest, Feet |
| Accessories | Belts, Rings, Necklaces, Back |
| Cosmetic | Any gear worn for looks only — see Cosmetic |
Stats
Gear carries six primary stats — Power, Precision, Focus, Ferocity, Vitality and Will — plus secondary stats such as Critical Strike Chance, Critical Strike Damage, Attack Speed, Heavy Hit Chance, Cooldown Reduction, Max Health, Knockback, elemental damage and resistances.
Stats are either global (affecting everything you do) or affinity-based (boosting one specific ability) — see Ability Affinity Stats for the full breakdown.
Rarity
Every item has a rarity:
| Rarity | Notes |
|---|---|
| Common | Base rarity of most early gear |
| Uncommon | |
| Rare | |
| Epic | |
| Legendary | Dungeon rolls only — carries a legendary effect |
A crafted item always has its base rarity. Higher rarities come from dungeon rolls.
Dungeon rolls
When gear drops from a dungeon chest, it rolls: the dropped copy gains a rarity and a bonus package of stats on top of the base stats. The same item can therefore drop in many different versions.
How a roll works:
- Each item has a set of predefined bonus packages (typically around 20). The drop picks one — a package's stats come together as a fixed set, they are not rolled one by one.
- Many items have a guaranteed core of bonus stats that appears in every package, plus 1–3 additional stats whose number and values scale with the package's rarity.
- Crafted copies always have the base stats and base rarity — no package at all.
- Legendary packages additionally carry a legendary effect — a triggered power (on crit, on heavy hit, on kill…) unique to dungeon loot.
Each item's page lists its guaranteed core and every possible additional stat in its Possible rolls section. Rolls are weighted toward lower rarities.
Sets
Weapons and armor come in themed sets — Foundation, Lunar, Neotilus and Virelda — with different stat leanings per set.
Tiers
Gear runs from Tier 0 (starter) to Tier 6. Higher tiers have higher Skill-level requirements to equip and drop from higher-tier dungeons.
Obtaining gear
- Crafting — weapons at the Weapon Station, armor and necklaces at the Gearforge Station (see Gearforging). Crafting yields the base version.
- Dungeons — chests drop rolled gear of the dungeon's tier. Belts and tiered rings are drop-only — they cannot be crafted.
- Gathering — Mining, Fishing and Foraging nodes rarely give up untiered jewellery: most of the game's rings and a good share of its necklaces arrive this way rather than from a chest. Jewellery has fixed stats and never rolls.
- Enemies, vendors and quests — a few accessories drop from storm-dungeon enemies or are bought or awarded outright.
Equipping gear
To equip gear:
- open the bag (press "b").
- open the character profile (press "c").
- drag-and-drop the gear into the corresponding slot.
OR
- right-click the gear in your bag and choose Equip — be careful it does not go into the Cosmetic slot!
Tip: most gear requires specific Skill level(s) to be equipped.
Equipping Cosmetics
Both regular gear and Cosmetics can be equipped in the regular or Cosmetic slots. Equip whichever gear you wish to wear for stats in the regular slots, and aesthetic gear in the Cosmetic slots — you keep your preferred stats while displaying a customised look.
