Foundation Set
Foundation is one of the four themed gear sets in Soulbound: Online, alongside Lunar, Neotilus and Virelda. Its 24 pieces span Tier 3 to Tier 6, and every tier carries the same six pieces: a head, chest, feet and necklace piece, plus two weapons — a sword and a staff — so the set contains four swords and four staves in total. Foundation gear is crafted at the Weapon Station and Gearforge Station and also drops from dungeon chests. The set shares its name with The Foundation.
Stat focus
Across the set's 24 pieces, Will appears on 17, more than any other stat, followed by Vitality on 12, Attack Speed and Power on 11 each, Focus, Shielding Power and Precision on 10 each, Healing Power on 9, Max Health and Critical Strike Chance on 8 each, Heavy Hit Chance on 6 and Cooldown Reduction on 4. The defensive and support stats sit mostly on the armour and the staves: all four Foundation staves carry Shielding Power and three of the four also carry Healing Power, while the Tier 3 and Tier 4 chest and feet pieces pair Vitality with both of those stats. The offensive stats sit on the swords and on the Tier 5 and Tier 6 Foundation Bulwark chest and feet pieces: every Foundation sword carries Critical Strike Chance and Attack Speed, and the Tier 5 and Tier 6 swords add Heavy Hit Chance. On those numbers the set suits a durable Will/Vitality build that leans on shielding and healing throughput, with the swords and the Tier 5–6 Bulwark pieces as its crit-focused half.
Obtaining
Every piece in the set is both craftable and dungeon-droppable — there are no craft-only or drop-only Foundation pieces.
- Crafted — the sword and staff of each tier at the Weapon Station; the head, chest, feet and necklace pieces at the Gearforge Station (see Gearforging). A crafted copy has exactly the base stats listed below.
- Dungeon chests — a dropped copy rolls bonus stats on top of its base stats and can reach a higher rarity than the crafted version. The per-item roll tables are on each item's own page.
Equipping Foundation gear needs Skill levels that rise with tier:
- Chest and feet — Knowledge and Technology
- Head — Knowledge, Marksmanship and Strength
- Swords — Strength, Technology and Marksmanship
- Staves — Knowledge, Technology and Marksmanship
- Necklaces — Strength, Dexterity and Gearforging
Legendary effects
Ten legendary effects can roll on Foundation pieces. An effect only appears on a Legendary dungeon drop — crafted copies and lower-rarity drops never carry one.
Set items
The rarity shown by each item's name is its base rarity — the rarity of a crafted copy. Dungeon-dropped copies can be higher.
