Template:Disambig
Appearance
Marks a disambiguation page — a page whose sole job is to list the articles that
share a title. Per the Manual of Style, create a disambiguation
page only when a title has three or more meanings; for exactly two, use an
Otheruses
hatnote on the articles instead.
Usage
Put a short bulleted list of the competing meanings, then this template at the very bottom:
Ember may refer to:
* Ember (item), a crafting material
* Ember (NPC), a merchant in Everdune
* Ember (enemy), a fire elemental
Disambig
Parameters
1— the shared title, if it differs from the page name (optional).
Behaviour
- Adds the page to Category:Disambiguation pages and suppresses the table of
contents, but only in the main namespace — so the documentation and examples here are not miscategorised.
- The canonical title still belongs to the primary subject (quests win the bare name);
the disambiguation page usually lives at "Title (disambiguation)".
