Stats
Stats influence how effectively you can deal damage, avoid enemy attacks, and manage your survivability. In Soulbound, equipped gear provides various bonuses that directly impact your combat effectiveness when exploring dungeons.
Key equipment stats include:
- Health - adds to your available health pool
- Damage – determines the amount of damage you can deal to enemies
- Defense - decreases the amount of damage taken
- 1 DEF = 1% damage reduction, capped at 40 (e.g. if DEF >40, the maximum damage reduction will be 40% regardless of Relics)
- Dodge – increases your chance to evade incoming attacks, reducing the damage you take
- Critical Strike - deals extra damage per attack
- Buff Power - increases the amount of shielding (Fortify) or healing (Healing Pulse) from Abilities
- Speed - determines how fast a character can walk
What Stats Do I Use?
Different pieces of equipment are tailored to suit various playstyles, allowing you to optimize your gear for offensive or defensive strategies.
For example:
- Tank Build = Health, Defense, Crit
- Damage Build = Damage, Crit
- Dodge Build = Dodge, Damage, Crit
- Healer Build = Buff Power
Most players prefer either a Tank Build (Defense and Crit) or Dodge Build (Dodge). The type of stats you use can also depend on the dungeon and boss encounter, and the size of your party. For example, a party of 3 would more likely favor at least 1 player taking a Healer Ability for a tough encounter.

How Do I Increase Stats?
Stats can be increased by:
- Acquiring better Weapons or Armor via crafting or trading
- Acquiring new equipment through overworld or beacon dungeon chests
- Weapon and Ability Upgrades
- Dungeon Relic Buffs (1 dungeon run only)
- Combat potions (temporary)
Note: Relic buff paths are influenced by Weapon and Ability Upgrades.
